New features!

First off, we wanted to let everyone know about some new Webivia features. Recently, we added an “explanation” option for questions. This option allows the question author to supply an explanation of the correct answer to the question that will be shown to the person answering after they have given their answer.

In addition, we’ve added some more flagging options. We encourage users to flag questions that have poor spelling and grammar.

Creating questions

I wanted to give a quick guide on creating questions. The following are requirements you should go through every time you create a question:

  1. Choose the question type that best fits your question. If a question has too many possibilities of giving the answer in different ways, then the question type that would fit it best is probably multiple choice. If a question is only answerable a select few, or one way, and giving choices would give away the answer, then write in is probably the best question type for it.
  2. Make sure your question is well written, contains correct spelling, and uses proper grammar.
  3. Make sure your question has a definitive answer and is not based on opinion.
  4. If required, cite a source. For instance, if I was asking “What is best album of all time?”, that would be invalid. “Best” can mean anything, according to anyone. To make this question valid I could do “What is the best-selling album of all time in the United States?” Which the correct answer would be “Their Greatest Hits” (Eagles)
  5. If you are tagging your question, MAKE SURE you do not include the answer to the question in the tags! Tags are visible to people who have not yet answered the question.

What’s next?

Webivia has just begun. We are still building up our user base. Also, we have a ton of awesome features planned that will be implemented shorty.

Most importantly, we value your feedback. We encourage everyone to make suggestions via this form. We read all feedback and take all suggestions into consideration.

So, stay tunned for more features!
