Question types
- Multiple choice
- This question type is for questions that you want to give pre-defined choices to select from.
- Write in
- This question type alows you to ask a question and make the person answering it fill in the answer without choosing from predefined choices.
- You can define multiple answers to be checked against the answer supplied by the person answering the question.
Global question options
The following are options that you will see on all create question forms no matter what type of question you are creating. They are global options and are applied to every question.
- Question - The question field is simply the question you are requiring the person answering the question to answer. It may be up to 200 characters.
- Category - Category is a required field. The category you select for your question to be in should simply be the category that you feel it fits best in. If a reasonable category for your question does not exist, you can select "Other" or you can contact us and let us know that you think we should add a new category.
- Tags - Although you aren't required to tag your questions, tags are very important if you want to get your question maximum visibility and make it easy for users to find. Tags are simple words that describe your question. You can enter up to 10 tags for each question. Remember, tags can only contain letters and numbers. Also, be sure to not include the answer to your question as one if it's tags as tags are always visibible, even to people who haven't answered the question.
Multiple choice options
- Question choices - Adding choices to your question is simple. Just type in one answer in each box. Click "add additional choice" to add a field for another choice. Any choices left blank will not be included.
- Correct choice - For multiple choice questions, you must declare which choice is correct. Simply click "set correct choice" next to the answer that is correct. The choice number that you selected will show up under "correct choice".
- Order choices - This option allows you to choose how you want the question choices to be ordered when people are answering your question. "order choices randomly" makes the choices you supplied show up in a raondom order every time your question is viewed. "order inputted" will make the choices show up on the question page in the exact order you inputted them.
Write in options
- Answer type - A write in question can check the user's answer against one supplied answer, or multiple answer posibilities. If you choose single answer, the answer you type in the box will be the only accepted answer. If you choose multiple answers, enter each acceptable answer on a different line in the box, and all supplied answers will be acceptable answers.
- Answer options - The answer a user types in could be compared to acceptable answers in different ways. When choosing "check answer exactly", the answer a user gives must match the exact answer on the key, but is not case sensitive. By checking off "case sensitive", the user must use capitcal and lowercase letters correctly in order to get the question correct. [smart answer info]
